The administration portal of Cortado Server allows for users and applications to be centrally managed, along with the users‘ rights, policies, profiles, certificates and security settings for access to the corporate network. Users gain secure access to files and information in the corporate network and can continue to work with a range of editing functions, almost on a par with the workstation. Thus, employees remain operational and productive at all times, even outside of the office.
- From a workstation, open the following website:
https://server-adresse/fw
- Log in to the web-based configuration console of the Cortado server with the same admin account (see section CortadoService account) used for the installation.
Note: Problems may be experienced with Internet Explorer if the hostname includes an underscore (_); if so, use a different browser or a DNS alias.
Note! As well as the CortadoService account, which has all rights, you can create other admin accounts that can only make changes in certain areas (e.g. in user management, or in the apps). In addition, an admin account can be created that has reading rights only (see article Configuration of the admin roles).
- Proceed as described in the following sections.
Structure of the console
Under Administration (arrow in illus.), you will see the individual modules that can be managed using the administration portal.
Using the Users module as an example, you can see in the following how the administration portal operates. Just click on Administration→ Users. The administration portal modules are divided into two display columns and two editing columns. In the Users and Group Templates modules, the existing users or group templates are displayed in the left column. If you highlight at least one of these items, it appears in the corresponding editing column (= second column), actions that you can carry out, e.g. Send E-mail, Get Settings, Remove. The data sets of those items selected in the first column are displayed in the third column, and these can, in turn, be edited in the fourth column.
You can also select other aspects from the tabs in column three, e.g. Network Drives, Printers, Settings.
