How to configure the Managed Configurations of the Cortado app

You are using a different EMM/MDM solution than Cortado Server to manage your mobile devices and would like to use the Cortado app for file access. Here we show you how to set up the Managed Configurations of the app.

Aim

The aim is to configure the Cortado app with the help of Managed Configurations and distribute it to users. Users then only need to enter their password to log in to the app. Server address and UPN are automatically stored in the app with the help of Managed Configurations.

Implementation

For iOS

  • The Cortado Workplace app for iOS can be distributed and configured using an EMM/MDM solution.
  • The app is available from the Apple App Store.

  • The app must be configured before it can be used by the users. The following keys are available for the app’s Managed Configurations:
KeyTypeExampleDescription
Endpointstringhttps://servername.domain.comserver address of the Cortado server
LogonNamestring#userprincipalname#use wildcards here
  • You can download the file for Managed Configurations here: AppConfig
  • Then distribute the configuration file to the iOS users’ mobile devices.

For Android

  • You can use your EMM/MDM solution to distribute the Cortado app to the devices, and configure it via Managed Configurations. And it doesn’t matter whether the users have a (Work Profile) on their devices or if the device is completely managed – (Work Managed Device).
  • The Cortado app for Android is available in the Google Play Store.

  • Approve the app in your EMM/MDM solution and then open its Managed Configurations.

The following configuration options are available:

Endpointstringhttps://server.comserver address of the Cortado server
LogonNamestring#userprincipalname#use wildcards here
  • Distribute the app and the managed configuration to the users.

Note! Please be aware that the user of the work profile or of the managed device must have permission to modify accounts. If needed, create a corresponding policy in your EMM/MDM solution and distribute it to the users as well.
